Newcastle’s MP calls for Brexit Rethink and People’s Vote
29 Mar 2019This week, Paul contributed to the debate over different options for our future relationship
with the European Union, reiterating his position that withdrawal, certainly with ‘no deal’,
is an enormous act of self-harm to our country.
None of the options commanded a majority, but whichever way forward might do so in the future should be put to the people to decide, he said, with Remain also on the ballot paper.
He also praised the cross-party work of many MPs, in the face of the Prime Minister’s extraordinary broadcast from Downing Street the week before.
